COVID-19 Protections

Our team at Healing One believes in integrity, wellness, and health for ourselves and our guests above all else. The float industry as a whole has very high standards for water cleanliness and water filtration in order to keep guests safe. We are regulated by the Washoe County Health Dept., which randomly inspects our center twice a year. The NV Massage Board also randomly inspects us every year. In 8 years of business we have passed every inspection with flying colors :)

To ensure that we are always up to those standards, we test the cleanliness of our float solution every single day. Each tank has 1,000 + lbs. of Epsom salt, a natural sanitizer that has been shown to be inhospitable to microbes and bacteria. The float solution is filtered four times before and after every single person, and only one person at a time is allowed. Our filtration system utilizes a 10 micron cartridge filter, as well as chlorine as a residual sanitizer. We also utilize UV water filtration, which is shown to be 99.99% effective in eliminating waterborne pathogens and microorganisms.

Finally, we would like to reassure you that COVID-19 is not a waterborne disease. There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. The CDC has outlined this criteria on their website here.

As you can see, float centers and float tanks are already conforming to pretty high industry standards to protect the health of our guests. Below are the extra measures that we are engaging in to ensure your safety.

Hand Washing

We wash their hands between guests, after every room turnover, and after every personal break. We recommend that our guests engage in high standard hand washing practices, using antibacterial soap and the hottest water you can stand while washing for at least 20 seconds.

Tool Sanitization

iPads, pens, and all tools are sanitized between every guest to ensure no passing of microbes. All guests will be asked to fill out new waivers that include a COVID-19 health addition.

Surface Sanitization

Surfaces and touch points in our center that are exposed to guests are wiped down between every use with 70% alcohol sanitizer. This includes the surfaces in both chill lounges, bathrooms, float rooms, healing rooms, and the inside of float tanks.

Limited Capacity

We are limiting the capacity of our chill lounges in order to keep our guests appropriately socially distanced. Spaces will be sectioned off for those who exist in the same household. These spaces will be sanitized between guests, and we will call you when it is time to enter. Start time for our services will be staggered to reduce the amount of customers in the lounges at any given time.

Masks Required

Masks are required for all guests and employees inside of the float center. If you’re inside, your mask must be on and over your nose! Masks and hand sanitizer will be available if you forget yours at home! Masks are not suggested in the float tanks.

Contact Tracing

Contact tracing allows us to determine whether you have come into contact with someone that has an active COVID-19 infection. If you have had symptoms related to COVID-19 or the flu, we will kindly ask you to reschedule your services at least two weeks from the time of the original service.

Let’s collaborate!

In addition to what we’re doing to keep you safe, here are a few ways you can do your part in keeping you safe!

  • Healthy Sleep Cycles and a Clean Diet

Your body’s ability to fight off any invading offenders is the first line of defense. A clean diet that is full of nutrients and a sustainable amount of sleep will keep your body at peak performance. Getting enough sleep is shown to regulate certain aspects of your immune system, making it essential for optimal health.

  • Exercise

We’re sure you’ve heard this before — exercise is extremely important for your overall health! Not only does it increase your heart rate and regulate immune function, it’s a protective factor against stress and good for your mental health! Whether it’s outside in the fresh air, at home, or (safely) in your favorite gym or studio, movement is truly a miracle for your body, mind, and soul.

  • Tend to Your Mental Health

Social isolation has been shown to be it’s own health crisis! It’s important to interact safely with those around you, reach out to someone when you’re feeling blue, or go the extra mile for yourself when you need it. Sometimes this looks like taking time for yourself, finding the activities that resource you best, or spending time with someone that can hold space for you. In these stressful times, it’s important to check in with yourself daily and recognize when you need some support.

  • Take a Break From Negativity and the Media

Social media and sensationalized media have been shown to increase depression and feelings of hopelessness. Sometimes it’ll feel like you can’t escape it! It’s okay to know when you’ve reached your limit for the amount of information or negativity you can handle. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or trapped, take a break to be in the present and do something that you enjoy. Have a light conversation, do something physical, or tend to your self care instead of interacting with a device.
